Soprano Miroslawa Sojka Topor born in the Polish Tatra mountain region, she is known among the Polish Community as the top performer of Polish highland music. But Miroslawa Sojka Topor is much more than that: she received her musical education in Krakow's Academy of Music, one of the top performance schools in Poland. She finished performance studies at Chicago's Roosevelt University and received Master’s Degree from DePaul University. Thanks to her unique musical versatility, while mastering her classical singing artistry, she also finds time to perform with the folk ensemble Goranie, with which she has recorded four CD’s. In 2000, she performed in the Peace Concert at the Orchestra Hall at Symphony Center, with exceptional critical acclaim. She also sang the challenging soprano part in Wojciech Kilar's Angelus. In March of 2010 she performed Chopin's songs at the CSO Chopin Gala Concert. With her charming voice, Miroslawa Sojka Topor is doubtlessly one of Chicago's most talented and most prominent singers. Studied vocal-acting school in the Cracow Academy of Music under the direction of Wojciech J. Smietana. On stage, he made his debut while still a student singing Skołuba in Moniuszko's The Haunted Manor in Cracow Opera (1988). A year later, he appeared in a concert in Warsaw organized by the Ministry of Culture for gifted students of art schools. He has won third prize and two honorable mentions at the International Vocal Competition in Wroclaw (1990), IV Competition finalist. Ada Sari in Nowy Sacz (1991) and won the International Competition of "Opera for Europe" in London (1997). He participated in master classes conducted by Richard Karczykowski (Cracow 1997) and Helena Lazarska (Vienna 1998). His repertoire includes: Satan in Paradise Lost Penderecki, Scarpia in Puccini's Tosca, Mephistopheles in Gounod's Faust and Verdi's Nabucco in Zechariah. The Grand Theatre - National Opera debut in the 1998/99 season in the role of Satan in Paradise Lost Penderecki. At the same time, he has also established cooperation with the Grand Theatre in Lodz, appearing there in the party Escamillo in Bizet's Carmen. At the International Krzysztof Penderecki Festival in Krakow (1998) sang the Count in the Black Mask Ebbo, and the Beethoven Festival in Olsztyn (1999) took part in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. In the same year he sang in Vienna, Don Basilio in Rossini's Barber of Seville.
