Tad TeeMac Janik began his music business career at age 16 in his native Poland. By age 19 he was already playing with some celebrated local musicians, winners of major Jazz Competitions. By the time he was 21 years old, he had composed music for a few theatrical plays and scored major HITS with a couple of contemporary Polish Pop Stars. His ultimate dream had always been to continue his career in the USA where he relocated at the age of 24. He settled in Chicago where he quickly founded a band called REAL to REEL that was very successful on the bustling local club scene. The band drew large crowds and quickly developed a loyal following. Tad also continued to record and perform outside of Chicago. His recording credits include collaborations with celebrated jazz singers Frank DeRone, Geraldine DeHaas, and others. His 1st CD released in the USA was entitled Tad Janik & Friends and featured some great local talent like Lori Payne, Josie Falbo, Gino Martino (Enough Znuff) Bob Georges (Mr.Blotto) and others, The record was engineered by a two-time Grammie Nominee Gary Loizzo at his famed Pumpkin Studio. As a skilled, versatile musician Tad was often hired by other artists which enabled him to share the stage with some national and international superstars including Gretchen Wilson, Cracker, Jerry Goodman, and others. He performed at such prestigious events as CMA COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS and LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS, where he performed his own songs written for Nelia. A few years ago, he released his 2nd album called PEACE LOVE & MUSIC. Songs from that album got tens of thousands of views on internet music platforms. He also made a name for himself as an expert Boogie Woogie player which earned him an enthusiastic review in the entertainment section of the Chicago Tribune a few years ago. Tad always brings something new and fresh to the All-Souls Jazz Festival. This year it will be a very special, heartfelt tribute to the late Chicago Great, Ramsey Lewis whose record SUN GODDESS had a huge impact on Tad`s musical development. You just can`t miss it!
